Memorial Day

Memorial day has a purpose. .. What I do not understand is the refusal for our government or the rest of the world to learn from its mistakes. This is 2005, war should be something there are movies about, maybe some PC games about war, and thats it. We live in the modern world, yet in some places war still rages.

Congress is worried about steroid abuse in baseball, and filibustering judicial nominations, meanwhile the fringes of the world fall apart. Genocide rages in africa, people starving in south america, and the Iraq is in ruins.

It seems to me that the leaders have no touch with reality. It seems they base human life on dollars spent, and make decisions on profit margins not set to calculate loss of life.

Memorial day is a lesson. Why is nobody learning?
